TEACHING

I am currently a teaching assistant for the following course at UW–Madison:

LINGUIS101: Human Language: an entry-level course which covers elementary theory and practical work in phonetics, phonology, morphology, and syntax, with attention to formal grammar.

I worked as a teaching assistant for the following courses at the University of Kentucky:

LIN331: Language in U.S. Society: an intermediate course where students investigate a sociolinguistic topic of their choice and conduct original research, presenting their findings at the end of the semester.

LIN211: Introduction to the Study of Language: a course designed to give students a broad introduction to the field of linguistics from the perspective of language users.

LIN200: How to Create Your Own Language: a course to introduce linguistics and non-linguistics majors alike to the fundamental aspects of language as it relates to society and culture. Students complete a semester-long project wherein they design the phonetic and phonemic inventories, grammar, lexicon, and social elements of a conlang.

As well, I have worked as an Assistant Language Teacher of English for the Kōbe City municipal government in association with the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program.
